Onager vs Onager Mutual Tabling

For this game, I brought Screed on an OSD with Cataclysm, Pryce, GCV, Veteran Gunners, LTT, and the Orbital Bombardment Cannons; a Raider 2 with Corvus, HIE, DCaps, and Iden; a Gozanti with Hondo and Comms Net; and a Decimator ball. On the other side, Andy brought a Vader Cymoon, Onager Testbed (with Rakehell), Gozanti, Jonus, and 5 TIEs. He had the bid, picked second, and I chose Contested Outpost. Here is the opening of round 1:

In the first round, I positioned Corvus to hit the Cymoon, activated my OSD last thanks to Pryce, and scored a Bombardment Cannon crit on the ISD. Here is the opening of round 2:

In the second round, I activated the Raider first, stripped some shields from the ISD, and managed to keep at long range of the Cymoon. This did not save me as Andy managed to score six damage and three accuracies—just enough to pop the Raider. The Cymoon was still in my ignition arc so I hit it hard and moved aggressively toward Andy’s Onager, hoping to tank a single hit and escape on the following round. My Decimators went to work on the Cymoon, bringing it down to 4 health remaining and no shields or brace token. Andy stripped the shields from the front of my Onager with his own and I pulled the crit effect that does not allow me to resolve accuracies. The worst. Here is the opening of round 3:

In the third round, I activated my OSD and stripped the shields from Andy’s Onager. I also destroyed the Cymoon with a broadside. I then jumped forward and out of of the ignition arc, though Andy did still have the double-arc shot on my OSD. He was able to finish it off, but I also got two salvo shots in return that softened him up for the Decimators to finish off. Here is the closing board state after the mutual tabling:

This was a record fast game. I really liked the OSD with its powerful broadside and superior salvo. Both of these things helped a lot. Still, Onager on Onager fighting is a bloody affair. Had I used Corvus against the Onager instead of going head-to-head with the Cymoon, I might have been able to preserve that asset after using my Heavy Ions.

Andy did manage to score a single victory token from the station, giving him the 20 point MOV win. Great game!
